As a Round Square School we seek a holistic education for all our students. For students doing the IB Diploma there has to be a strong emphasis on academic achievement since the result of this 2-year course will open the doors to higher education and employment opportunities. Our IB graduates move onto universities around the world which have in recent years included Oxford, Cambridge and Stanford.
There is no doubt that the IB Diploma is a challenging course which brings out the best in our students. Universities today look for much more than academic success. They look for students with the experience of leading in their own schools, they look for skills beyond the classrooms such as sport, music and drama, social and political awareness and the desire to make a positive difference to the world around them. Those involved in university admissions often comment that students from The Regent’s School are better able than most to demonstrate their potential in these broader areas of personal and educational challenge. I would encourage anyone looking for post 16 education to come and see the tremendous young adults developing through The Regent’s Sixth Form.
